Media training workshops are lively and entertaining. They include individual mentoring and on-camera coaching, to develop your confidence and improve presenting skills.
The benefits of training with a journalist go far beyond a typical news interview. Once you learn how to sell your story to a newsroom, you'll be far more engaging - and convincing - in any boardroom or public presentation.
Each session is tailored to your requirements and expectations. In a typical half-day workshop, you'll learn how to:
- respond to unexpected media enquiries
- prepare for a typical news interview
- perform for print, radio and TV
- promote positive coverage of your services
- manage hostile questions and negative issues
- engage audiences through story-telling
- Avoid no-go areas like Off The Record
Standard workshops
The most popular option is a standard boardroom workshop. These are designed for individuals, or small groups of two or three colleagues.
Standard workshops are tailored to suit your specific media requirements. They include recorded interview training with immediate feedback and critique.
Television interviews are captured on a digital DV camcorder and filmed with a professional lighting kit. Video highlights are uploaded to a password protected website after training. Attendees receive training notes and tip sheets.
8-PLUS group presentations
For larger groups, you also have the option of an 8-Plus presentation. This is ideal for large companies or organisations where staff require an introduction to media basics, rather than intense on-camera coaching and interview role-play. Attendees receive training notes and tip sheets
Studio training
To practice for a live studio appearance, Greg offers coaching on the set of his Upper Queen Street studio in Auckland. Studio-based media training is available for individuals for groups of 2 or 3 people, usually over two to three hours.
Studio training is an ideal option for anyone planning a promotional appearance of news interview on any live show including Breakfast, AMP Business, Campbell Live and Close Up. Once again, training notes and tip sheets are supplied.
